March 14th and 15th, 2009 Rush Cup on the Coast, Virginia Beach, Virginia The Revolution prevailed in two hard fought games in the rain shortened Virginia Beach Rush Cup tournament. The team received contributions from the entire squad, but was led by Emily’s spirited play at the half back position. Emily played with poise and confidence throughout the tournament. Her ability to remain in position defensively and her intensity and desire to get to the ball first prevented opposing attacks and inspired her teammates to step up their play as well. Emily also contributed offensively by using her outstanding speed to beat defenders up the wing and distribute the ball to her teammates setting up some excellent scoring chances. Emily’s goal late in the first half of game one allowed the Revolution to go into half-time with a tie score. That momentum carried over into the second half, leading to an eventual victory for the Revolution. Way to go Emily! |

August 24th, 2008: Dulles National Tournament Finalist! The girls first tournament was the Dulles National Soccer Tournament. The team's results in the Challenge Division exceeded everyone's expectations (other than probably Coach Dan and Coach Jeff). Playing in their first tournament, the girls won two and tied one game to advance to the championship Sunday afternoon against the Loudoun 97G White team. Starting the season with a second place finish in their division was a great reward for three intense weeks of hard work and great coaching.
