SOFTBALL FRIENDS ARE FOREVER"
by: Judy Lee Schreiber (the words in blue)
"Softball is not just a sport where you play a few games and then you go home".
"There is more that comes out of it than winning or losing".
"With softball comes some of the best friends that you will ever encounter".
"You play on teams together, you laugh together you cry together. You meet new friends through other teams".
"A real softball friend is one who is there for you on the field and off the field".
"A real softball friend is there to help you with your bumps and bruises".
"A real softball friend is there to pick you up after a rough game or congratulate you after a great one".
"A real softball friend keeps in touch with you after the season has ended and for many years to come".
"I just wanted to let you all know that you are my real softball friends".
Monday, March 17 I am very proud of all of our athletes this weekend as they did very well in their first tournament of the spring. We are still learning the plays, calls and signals which will come in time.
Thank you to the girls that give us some help this weekend;
Karen, you did a great job in our first bracket game being called in to start at the last minute and throwing a lot of good pitches.
Haley, It's a good thing spring break is here. You were behind the plate all day and I'm sure your legs feel like spegatti so going to school may have been tough.
Monday, June 11 A GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!! Parents and Players, Thank you to all the parents and players that worked our first team fund raiser this weekend. We received several compliments from coaches and parents regarding how clean the dugouts and fields were. The girls even were complimented on how sweet they were! The team worked a total of 36 hours!! Give yourselves a big hand!! FYI this was the first baseball tournament that a Girls Fastpitch Softball team was able to work!! Tuesday, June 26 ![]() - Get Your OwnIn the Burkburnett tournament our girls were up playing softball for 23 hours. We arrived at the park at 6:00 AM on Saturday morning to begin warming up for a 7:00 game and did not stop until our last game ended at 4:45 (Sunday morning). As the games wore on throughout the day and deep into the night our girls learned more and continuiously improved in position play, batting and moving to the ball. It was a great expereinece for the coaches to watch as these young ladies matured as a team; understanding what each other was doing, working together and most of all having a great time playing. At 2:00 Sunday morning we were even playing in the rain with bats flying around the fields just above our players scooping bugs out of the air. As we were leaving the parking lot, a player made the comment, "you woke me up at 4:55 yesterday morning; it's 4:57 now... WE PLAYED ALL DAY! What a great memory for our young athletes. The coaches are pleased with our girls and we will be willing to do another 'round the clock tournament again sometime (after we recover from this one). |
