'92G Colorado Xteme Force Finish in 3-Way Tie For 2nd Place at The Storm Fireball
This years Colorado Storm Fireball was a great tournament with absolutely perfect weather throughout the weekend. Our first game on Saturday morning turned out to be a devastating tie for the Force to be able to bring home hardware for sole possession of 2nd place. After going up 2-0 on the goal of the tournament from a service from Erin Aragon to Katie Schuchard midway through the second half, Real Bronze came back with two unanswered goals in the last 10 minutes of the game.
The second game later that afternoon vs. Westminster Cosmos that had the Force down 0-3 at halftime on some costly defensive errors. The Force was able to score two quick goals in the second half within the first 10 minutes to get back into the game at 2-3. Westminster then came back and score the next three goals for a final tally of 2-6 in a game that was much closer then score shows.
Going into Sunday's game on Father's Day vs. Colorado Ice, the Force sat down prior to the 8:00am game for a short team meeting to refocus back on the basics of playing our game. The Force were able to dominate the first half on some brilliant combination plays and stringing six to ten passes to go up 2-0. A defensive communication error allowed Colorado Ice to score with 14 seconds left in the first half to make the game tight again at 2-1. The second half looked much like the first half with the Force making countless combination plays and overlaps and the Force prevailing 3-1 at the final whistle.
Going into the final game vs. the Arizona Fury, the Force was in control on their own destiny by needing a win to finish in sole possession of second place behind the undefeated Westminster Cosmos. To make a long story short, the Force dominated the game and outshot the Fury by a margin of four to one, but was not able to find the back on the net resulting in a 0-0 tie. The tie game created a 3-way tie for 2nd place in the flight between Arizona Fury, Real Bronze and Colorado Xtreme. Going through the tie breaker criteria, Real Bronze became the 2nd place finisher on a zero goal differential with the Fury and the Force both tied at -2 goal differential. The next tie breaker to determine the 3rd place finisher was goals for and the Force came out ahead by scoring seven goals and the Fury scoring three.

Quote of the Month - Dan Freigang, sports psychologist working the United States Soccer Federation.
What does a 'confident' player look like? You can recognize confident athletes from their speech, behavior, and how they approach difficult training. Players with high self-confidence look at training with an optimistic expectation regardless of the situation. Playing in the rain for confident players becomes a challenge to see who can get the most dirt on their jersey. Tired legs to confident players are interpreted as an opportunity to duplicate tough game-like conditions. Mistakes made by confident players are overcome immediately and lightning quick improvements are developed without any loss to self-esteem. Confidence also allows players to be healthier and enjoy the soccer experience with joy and enthusiasm.

Congratulations goes out the '92G Colorado Xtreme Force in another great tournament played this weekend at the Pueblo Sunbelt Classic. The Force finished bracket play on Sunday morning at 2-1-0.
Saturday's games matched the Force up against the Pride Revolution with the Force coming out with a 2-0 win. The early afternoon game had the Force squaring off against the Boulder Nova Gold Titans with the Force coming up on the short end, 0-1.
That evening we enjoyed a pizza party at the hotel, followed by a trip over to Dutch Clark Stadium to cheer on the MLS Colorado Rapids vs. CSU Pueblo Timberwolves. The game was great to watch as the Rapids took early control and built a 2-0 lead at halftime. The second half was more of the same domination by the Rapids and by the time the final whistle blew ending 90 minutes of play, the Colorado Rapids put on a goal scoring clinic winning by a decisive margin of 9-0.
Sunday mornings match-up vs. Colorado Ice Red looked quite like the Rapids game, domination, but the Force could only find the back of the net once for a 1-0 win. Now that bracket play was completed the Force finished tied for 2nd in points with Colorado Rush Wild and won the tie breaker on goals allowed with the Rush Wild allowing 5 goals through bracket play and the Force only allowing one!
The championship match vs. the Colorado Sting Diamonds was an excellent game with the Force maintaining offensive possession for well over 60% of the match but the Diamonds scored on a break-away midway through the first half and the game remained the same until the final whistle blew with the Diamonds prevailing over the Force 1-0.
