Heat's Next Tournament:
Slammer's Cup (CA) July 16-18, 2004
The Heat opened State Cup play against the ASUSC Blackhawks and came away with a 4-0 victory. Each of the Heat's four scores came from a different players, while the defense held the Blackhawks to only one serious attempt on goal. Coach Omid felt it was not one of the prettiest games the team has played, but a win is a win especially when it's 4 - 0. This brings Coach Omid's record to 12-1-1 since joing the Heat.
The Xtreme Heat's next opponent was the Ft. Lowell Select team from Tucson who beat the Scottsdale FC Rage 2-0. The game was tied 1-1 at halftime, but after a "spirited" halftime speech from Club Head Coach Mark, sitting in for Omid, the Heat unleashed a second half assault and won going away 5-1. The Heat defense dominated, allowing no shots on goal in the final period.
XTREME HEAT FINISHES 2nd in STATE
The Heat's only State Cup losses were to the defending national champion Sereno Eagles. For the second straight year the team finished runner-up in State. Congrats to the '86 Sereno Eagles and good luck in Regionals and Nationals!

NOMADS COACHES SHOWCASE
The Xtreme Heat once again had a great showing in tournament play, winning all 3 games in their bracket by a combined score of 9 to 1. The Heat finished higher in this tourney than ever before. In the quarter final match, the Heat found themselves paired up against the Southern California Champion Surf White team. Although losing this game, Coach Omid was very excited about the teams play. He has the girls playing with enthusiasm, aggression and discipline. Each and every girl contributed to the teams' overall success in the Nomads Showcase.
Coach Omid's record with the team is now at 11-1-1, his only loss to Surf coming in unlucky game number 13. Based on these 11 wins over some of the best teams in the nation, including defending national champion '86 Sereno White, National Soccer Ranking.Com has ranked the '86 Xtreme Heat as the 23rd best team in the nation and the 6th best in tough Region IV.
