Coach Introduction

I started to coach for District 100 in the year 2002. I am starting my 9th year as the girls sophomore basketball coach at Belvidere North and my 3rd year as girls head coach for track, also at Belvidere North. I am also a para-educator at BNHS. This is my 8th year coaching 7th grade volleyball at BCMS. Our 7th grade program has been very successful over the past 7 years with two second place finishes, one third and back to back to back to back championships the last four years. This year’s 2015 7th grade volleyball team will consist of 16-18 players. The team will be split into an A and B squad with an “A” NCJC Conference Tournament at the end of the season. I am proud of every team I have coached here at BCMS at look forward to another fun and exciting season!

The mission of 7th grade volleyball is the same as 8th. First, we spend much of our time working on the fundamentals of the game such as serving, passing, setting, and hitting. Second, we prepare the players to make the step to 8th grade volleyball. Lastly, we teach skills through volleyball that can be applied to life. Some of these skills are: being on time, teamwork, role acceptance, work ethic, along with numerous others.

We did a great job tonight during our scrimmage!!  I saw a lot of good things and some things we need to work on. Now it's time to get a rolling!  One more practice tomorrow than game time.  Remember you will be let out at 2:30. You will pick up your Subway if you have it and then get dressed.  I want everyone on the bus by 2:45.

It was a tuff decision deciding on A and B.  I have a lot of talented girls again this year.

NCJC Conference Champions 2013

The Belvidere Central 7th grade volleyball team became NCJC Conference Champions this past Saturday at DeKalb Huntley Middle School. After getting a first round bye we ended up having to play Prairie Knolls in the Semi-finals.  Prairie Knolls was the only team to take us to three games both times we played them.

It was not to be a third time as the girls took care of business by defeating PK in the first game 25-12 and then winning the second game 25-18 to take the match 2-0.

After what seemed like forever we finally played DeKalb Huntley in the championship game. The past two times that we played them we beat them 2-0. But now it's tournament time and anything can happen!

As expected the first game went back and forth and finally we came out on top 26-24. The second game we just could not be beat.  Our serving, hitting, target passing, and our back row play was nothing less then exceptional during the second game in which we won 25-9!

Final record, 14-0 and the first 7th grade volleyball team to ever go undefeated in school history!!!!!!!

I just wanted to say I am very proud of all 24 girls that were on the team. I had a great time coaching this group and watching them get better and better. I also want to thank all the parents and relatives who came to all the games and gave your support to the athletes and myself. Thank you!!!!
