NCJC Conference Champions 2013

The Belvidere Central 7th grade volleyball team became NCJC Conference Champions this past Saturday at DeKalb Huntley Middle School. After getting a first round bye we ended up having to play Prairie Knolls in the Semi-finals.  Prairie Knolls was the only team to take us to three games both times we played them.

It was not to be a third time as the girls took care of business by defeating PK in the first game 25-12 and then winning the second game 25-18 to take the match 2-0.

After what seemed like forever we finally played DeKalb Huntley in the championship game. The past two times that we played them we beat them 2-0. But now it's tournament time and anything can happen!

As expected the first game went back and forth and finally we came out on top 26-24. The second game we just could not be beat.  Our serving, hitting, target passing, and our back row play was nothing less then exceptional during the second game in which we won 25-9!

Final record, 14-0 and the first 7th grade volleyball team to ever go undefeated in school history!!!!!!!

I just wanted to say I am very proud of all 24 girls that were on the team. I had a great time coaching this group and watching them get better and better. I also want to thank all the parents and relatives who came to all the games and gave your support to the athletes and myself. Thank you!!!!

Pizza Party

Belvidere Central girls volleyball pizza party will be held after the game against South on Tuesday, October 8th. The 8th grade team will return to school where we will eat pizza with the 7th grade team and then walk to the Belvidere North v. Boylan volleyball game. The girls will need to be picked up from North after the game. I will remind the girls to text or call 15 minutes before the game ends.

NCJC Tournament Info

I have added a new section on your left called "handouts".  If you click on handouts it will have two files that you can download.  One is info about the NCJC tournament.  The second file is what the bracket will look like.  Notice the number one seeded team will get a first round bye and will not play on Oct. 10th.  With our win over Huntley last Thursday we have earned the number one seed so we will not play on Thursday, only on Saturday at 9am @ DeKalb Huntley Middle School.  The result of the 9am game will determine when we play again.

I will have an updated bracket with all the teams filled in on the night of October 8th or the 9th.  It depends on when I receive it from the tournament host.

If you have any questions please contact me.  Thanks for all of your support!
