2012 : A Great Year
2012 Wrapping Up! As the 2012 season begins to close, and some of our divisions enter post season tournaments, be on the lookout for our 2012 Coach Evaluation Survey email. This is your chance to help us maintain our wonderful League by tellin gus what worked and what did not.
Still Looking for Volunteers! Even as the season is about to start, there is still plenty to do. And it always seems to be the same handfull of volunteers that we rely on to bring the great game of baseball to our kids. Even if you do not play the game, there are still plenty of opportunities to help: Team Parent, ScoreKeeping, Field Maintenance, Assistant Coaching. Talk to your Team's Manager and find out what he needs to make the season a success. It will not take very much of your time, and it will make your Player proud to see his parents participate.
4SRLL Forms Strategic Partnership with Frozen Ropes The San Diego Frozen Ropes franchise and the 4S Ranch Little League are announcing a strategic partnership which will allow 4SRLL Managers and Coaches to get free training and on-field practice support, team tunnel time at reduced rates, and 4SRLL players to get discounts on tunnel time, classes and individual instruction. This announcement solidifies and expands the informal relationship 4SRLL has had with this top flight baseball instructional facility located directly in our community. 4SRLL Managers and Coaches will get details on these resources at the Manager's Meeting in January.
* Tournament seeding is tentative pending final regular season standings

Madison Scharbarth Fundraiser
The following is posted on behalf of Frozen Ropes:
Dear Frozen Ropes Family and Friends,
As many of you have probably heard, a young mother named Kathy Scharbarth from Carlsbad was senselessly kidnapped and murdered over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The news of her death hit the Frozen Ropes family particularly hard as Kathy is the sister of our outstanding, young coach Mike Scharbarth, who many of you have had the pleasure of knowing over the past several months. Our thoughts and prayers have gone out to the Scharbarth family over the past few days but it is now time to act for the benefit and future of Kathy’s 13 year old daughter, Madison Scharbarth.
Please spread the word that, in support of Madison, Frozen Ropes is opening its doors this Saturday, December 3rd (9AM - 5PM), for a day of free hitting. Please come join us for just a few minutes or the entire day at no charge but with the request that you leave a donation that day to the Madison Scharbarth fund ($15 minimum recommended donation).
100% of your donations that day will go directly to the Madison Scharbarth Fund. If you are unable to join us on Saturday but would still like to contribute, you can either stop by Frozen Ropes to leave a contribution that will be forwarded to the Scharbarth family, or you can mail checks directly to (please include C/O Madison Scharbarth in the memo line):
California Bank & Trust
In care of Madison Scharbarth
135 Saxony Road
Encinitas, CA 92024
During this time of tremendous difficulty and sorrow for the Scharbarths, we appreciate any support that you are able to provide for the future of Madison.
Thank you all so much,
The Frozen Ropes Team
4SRLL-Frozen Ropes Gamer Award

Little League Pledges
Little League Pledge
I trust in God.
I love my country, and will respect its laws.
I will play fair, and strive to win,
But win or lose, I will always do my best.
Little League Parents Pledge
I will teach all children to play fair and do their best.
I will positively support all managers, coaches and players.
I will respect the decisions of the umpires.
I will praise a good effort despite the outcome of the game.
Parent Code of Conduct
Preamble: The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these "six pillars of character."
I therefore agree:
I will not force my child to participate in sports.
I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults.
I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.
I will learn the rules of the game and the policies of the league.
I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.
I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures.
I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and wellbeing of the athletes.
I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
I will teach my child that doing one's best is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance.
I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard, and make my child feel like a winner every time.
I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a competition.
I will emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit my child over winning. I will also deemphasize games and competition in the lower age groups.
I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win.
I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game field, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place.
I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all sports events.
I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.
Wear Those Helmets !
The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation wants to remind you that anyone, under the age of 18, who rides on bicycles, scooters, skateboards, or inline skates at any community park, is required to wear a helmet.
Also, due to safety concerns, there will be no skateboarding in the areas around the Snack Bar and the Bleachers. Please heed the posted signs.
