14U Fall Green Eagles Wins October Frenzy in Easley, South Carolina

            The 14U Green Eagles won the USSSA October Frenzy in Easley, SC on October 3, 2010.  The Eagles were the only team from Georgia.  The other teams were from South Carolina and North Carolina.  They outscored their opponents 44-8.  The team was coached by Manager Rusty McCain and assistant coaches Chris Schwarzer, and Bryan Keown.  Team members were  #3 Tyler Mahr, #8 Patrick Kim, #9 Matthew Ramsey, #13 Jared Meeks, #14 Luis Vilchez, #15 Austin Ware, #17 Paulo Delossantos, #18 Franklin Ramirez, #25 Mitch McCain, #28 Alex Keown, #44 Christopher Schwarzer, and #88 Brandon Williams.

14U Spring Travel Baseball Tryouts

The Collins Hill 14U Eagles will hold try-outs to fill positions on two Travel Baseball Teams for the 2011 Spring season on Field #2 at Collins Hill Park on the following dates: 

• Sunday, September 26, 2010 -- 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.;
• Sunday, October 3, 2010 – 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; and
• Saturday, October 9, 2010 -- 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

 Players only need to attend one tryout session.  Registration fees for the spring season will be due to Collins Hill Athletic Association upon selection to one of the spring travel teams.  Please contact one of us to let us know that you will be trying out or if you have any questions.

Eagles win the Grand Slam Border Wars Baseball Classic on September 27, 2009 at the beautiful South Commons Olympic Sports Complex Stadium in Columbus, Georgia.

The 12U Green Eagles finished 2nd in the Grand Slam Gwinnett Fall Kick-Off tournament this past weekend.  On Saturday, they finished 1st in the B Pool by beating Symrna 2 (15-1) in 3 innings, and Shiloh Rough Riders (6-1).  On Sunday, they started off the bracket play with a bang beating Symrna 2 (18-1) in 3 innings.  In the semi-finals, they beat Atlanta Icons by a score of 4-6.  The Eagles ran out of gas in the Championship game losing 4-1 to North Gwinnett Bulldogs. Riley got a second place trophy for his birthday, but everyone else enjoyed the brownies that Riley's mother brought.

Tryouts for the Fall 2008 12U Collins Hill Eagles Green Travel Baseball Team, as well as the Collins Hill Eagles Black Travel Baseball Team, will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008, from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, July 12, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Both of these tryouts will be held on Field # 1 at Collins Hill Park.  Players only have to attend one of these tryout sessions in order to be considered for selection.  There will not be a tryout fee.  The team(s) will be announced by Tuesday, July 15, so that the players selected can pay their on-line park registration fee ($115) by July 18 to avoid late fees.  All eligible players are encouraged to tryout as we are shooting to have enough players to field two teams – the 12U Eagles Green Team managed by Rusty McCain (rmccain@amolawfirm.com or rdmccain@bellsouth.net) and 12U Eagles Black Team managed by Rich Rhoads (ARR2224@aol.com).  Please send Rusty an e-mail at rmccain@amolawfirm.com or rdmccain@bellsouth.net if you plan to try out.  Also, if you are interested in playing and cannot attend one of the above-listed try out sessions, please let Rusty know so that another tryout time can be arranged.

Eagles Green Team Meeting

The Eagles Green Team will have an initial players and parents meeting sometime between November 5 – 8 starting at 7:45 pm at the Collins Hill Park main concession stand area (the exact date will be decided later depending on everyone’s availability).  We will discuss a variety of topics including player introductions, projected practices times, off-season conditioning drills, schedule for indoor hitting and pitching instructions at Renz Baseball Academy, finances, fundraiser ideas, uniforms, player numbers, etc.  Please remember to bring your initial deposit check of $275 and a copy of your son’s birth certificate to the meeting.  The meeting is expected to last approximately an hour and a half.  Please be sure to attend.
