Idaho's Bear Lake Bears win NWCART Championship.
The "Giant Killers" from Bear Lake took home top honors at the 2007 NWCART. The team also picked up the "Sportsmanship Award" and Keith Cook and Cameron Crane were the Co-MVP's for the tourney. The Bears had to win two games on Championship Day. They first knocked off Oregon 10-5, then won it all by downing Utah, 6-5, in the closest game of the tournament.
Congratulations to the Bears for a great run!!!!!

Monday, August 20
Idaho and Oregon win on Day 4, Utah still alive.
Idaho knocked out Wyoming 21 to 8 to advance to an elimination game on Tuesday at noon with Oregon who defeated previously unbeaten Utah 11-0. At the conclusion of that game, the winner will then play Utah for the Championship. See "Day 4 Action" for game details on today's games.
Sunday, August 19
Wyoming, Oregon and Utah earn Day 3 wins to set up Day 4 brackets.
Day 4 of the NWCART will have Wyoming and Idaho facing off at 2:00 pm, Oregon and Utah hooking up at 6:00 pm.
Saturday, August 18
Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho claim second day victories (see "Day 2 Action" for details).
Friday, August 17
Montana, Washington, Utah and Idaho win on first day (see "Day 1 Action" for details).
Saturday, August 11
Fairbanks Blue takes Alaska State Championship.
The Fairbanks Blue team from Fairbanks, Alaska ended an undefeated season by winning the Class "A" Tournament today. The team went 4-0 in the tourney and completed a run of 22 straight games without a loss. They will represent Alaska in the upcoming 2007 NWCART.
Thursday, August 9
Box Elder Bees win Utah State title.
The Box Elder Bees from Box Elder County, UT have won the Utah AmLegion Class "A" State Championship. The Bees, under the direction of Manager Mike Hollingsworth and Coaches Steven Hanson and Clay Chournos, will be arriving in Anchorage on Tuesday the 14th.
Wednesday, August 8
Wheatland Lobos rein as Wyoming Champions.
The Post 10 Wheatland Lobos of Wheatland, WY earned a trip to Alaska by capturing the Class "A" State Championship under the direction of Manager Mick Cochran and Head Coach Todd Howard. The Lobos website is at: http://wheatlandlobos.com/

Giant killer Bear Lake Bears take Idaho crown.
The Bear Lake Bears from Montpelier, Idaho showed they can play with the big boyz by capturing their first AmLegion Class "A" State Championship. The two-time defending State 3A High School Champions made the most of their first trip to the Legion finals by posting a 4-0 record and outscoring their opponents 47-17. Bear Lake H.S. has an enrollment of approx. 400 students and knocked off teams coming from high schools with enrollments from 800 to over 1800 students.

Mission Valley Mariners capture Montana State Championship.
The Mission Valley Mariners from Northwest Montana captured their first state championship in the recently concluded Montana Class "A" American Legion Tournament. Manager Jami Hanson and Coaches Joe Locke and Jack Cummings will be bringing their team to Anchorage, Alaska to compete in the 2007 NWCART.

Ashland Pilots are Oregon Champs - headed to Alaska.
The Ashland Pilots from Ashland, OR in southern Oregon are the 2007 Class "A" State Champions. Coaches Dave Tygerson and David Sebrell along with Oregon State American Legion representative George Matile will be accompanying the team to Alaska.
Tuesday, August 7
Richland Knights emerge victorious in Washington State Championship.
The Richland Knights from Richland, WA are the 2007 Class "A" State Champions for Washington State. Manager Charlie Moody and Coaches Brian Esparza and Kevin Willborn will be accompanied by the Senior Commissioner for Washington American Legion Baseball, Dennis Thompson, during their upcoming trip to Anchorage, AK for the 2007 NWCART.
Wednesday, August 1
South Anchorage Post 4 captures regular season city title and right to host regional tournament.
The South Anchorage Class "A" American Legion Post 4 Wolverines captured the regular season title by virtue of a 12-6 record. The Wolverines will be the host team for the 2007 Northwest Class "A" Regional Tournament which starts August 17th. The Wolverines will also be competing in the upcoming Class "A" Alaska State Tournament which starts on August 6th. This tournament will also determine which other Alaska team earns the right to represent Alaska in the Regional Tournament.
The State Tournament will have three teams from Anchorage (Dimond, South, West) as well as Chugiak, Wasilla and two teams from Fairbanks.
