Coaches: 

The 18U American Athletics-(FitzPatrick) are coached by John FitzPatrick and Mike Monnahan the varsity softball coaches at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

John and Mike have coached at all levels of club softball with many appearances in ASA National tournaments. John begins his 15th season of coaching competitive softball and specializes in hitting instruction. Mike is one of southern California's premiere infield coaches and has been recognized by his peers for the quality of his practice sessions.

Alycia FitzPatrick - Holy Cross 05' assists the team.  Alycia was a coach our in our American Athletics Gold division for two seasons with great success. She was a standout collegiate softball player and instruct with a players perspective of the game.  As a division one collegiate catcher, Alycia brings to the table her knowledge of pitchers and calling the game. She is also an assistant coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

The team will participate at the gold level in the major showcase tournaments with a goal of providing college exposure to each player. The coaching atmosphere is positive and teaches the importance of sound fundamentals, teamwork, discipline and committment.

The American Athletics Girls Fastpitch Softball Club was founded by Jim Bollinger in 1994 for the sole purpose of developing and showcasing the best softball talent in Southern California to college coaches and scouts seeking to sign players to athletic scholarships. Our organization emphasizes hard work, commitment and dedication both athletically and academically. We take pride in equipping our athletes with the skills necessary to compete at the collegiate level.

We are committed to playing a competitive schedule, and will be playing in the major Showcase Tournaments. Our varsity level coaching staff are very experienced in developing the essential skills of softball, as well as improving the speed, strength and overall conditioning level of each player.

We are looking for committed, coachable athletes, that strive to improve and learn the value of teamwork.

Accomplishments 2007/2008/2009:

As American Athletics:  

*  2009 Triple Crown Colorado Sparkler Showcase Tournament - 3rd place in the 18 GOLD division!  

* So-Cal ASA 18 GOLD State Championship - won 3 games and placing among the top third of the GOLD level teams.

* 2009 ASA 18 GOLD classification earned in So-Cal ASA Gold Qualification Tournament.

* 2008 14U ASA National Championship - 17th place versus 83 of the best teams in the country.

* 2008 ASA National Qualifier Champions - Germantown, TN.

* Finished 5th out of 72 teams at 2008 ASA So Cal States.

* Finalist - 2008 Nemesis Elite Valentines Tournament

As California Cruisers:

* Going 6 - 1 at the ASA Midwest Region National Qualifier and qualifying for 2007 ASA Nationals in Normal, Illinois.

* Qualifying for the 2007 Pacific Coast Region National Qualifier by placing 13th at SO Cal State.

* Winning the 2007 Triple Crown Quicksilver Memorial Day Classic and qualifying for the Triple Crown World Series.

* Placing 3rd at the 2007 Fresno Force Classic.

* Qualifying for the 2007 USSSA World Series by finishing 2nd at the Derald Adair
Classic.
