Summer 2002 Champions

The Rowdies started in the winter of 1996. We formed as a group of neighbors and friends. Our first couple of seasons were pretty dismal. We took second place in the summer season and for the next couple of years were in contention, or in the playoffs most of the time. We took second place in the spring of '98. Our first championship didn't come until summer league '99 when we defeated our archrival Shuwa. It was around this time that the 1881 Club started to co-sponsor the team. The 1881 was our "after game" hangout and it's great to have them as our co-sponsor. Early in 2000 we need some new players and brought a few of Kent's Glendale, "The Team" onto our roster. This changed the complexion of the Rowdies. We had always been a good defensive team but not a power hitting team. With some new blood, we're now a strong slugging team. We won back to back league championships in spring and summer 2000, both with 15 run mercy wins. Fall 2000 was disappointing as we had a 9 and 1 record but no playoff as the leading team went undefeated. Winter 2001 saw us taking second place, but loosing the playoff game.
Another championship for the Spring 2001 season. A great game against the Budsters. Summer league started off with a bang. 5 and 0. Finished in 2nd place behind McMurphy's. A tough fought championship game. Too many poor defensive plays ended in a 23 to 21 loss. Fall league's championship game was the toughest battle we've ever faced. A great game against McMurphy's lead us to a 27 to 23 victory. Winter '02 was disappointing as McMurphy's won outright with a 8 and 0 record. No playoffs. Spring was flat. Finished the season at 5 and 5. Summer '02 season record was 6 and 4. 2nd place behind a strong 9 and 1 Goodfellas. Championship game was a battle. Back and forth, but we held on to a 26 to 20 victory.

2003 Spring Champions

Our first Glendale championship. Wednesday C league. Playoff game against
World Champions was a easy 23 to 9 win. Championship game against She Let Me Play was a little tougher but a 22 to 12 victory.

We leave Pasadena Champions. After six years playing league ball in Pasadena we're moving to Glendale. Our record: six championships and four second place finishes.
The championship game was a battle with Goodfellas. A back and forth game with neither team leading by more than three runs until the last inning when we went ahead 26 to 20. Put Goodfellas down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the seventh to pull off an upset victory.
All the Rowdie players gave 110% to the championship.

A great win over McMurphys. After they beat us twice this season we knew we had a tough game to play. We jumped on them at the start of the game and with great defense and timely hitting we held them off for a 27 to 23 victory. Everyone on the team had key plays that contributed to the win

It was a close win 20 to 19 over the Budsters. Winning run scored in the bottom of the 7th with 2 out. Great season. 10 and 1
