i just want to play hockey
I just want to play hockey
Just want to get on the ice
Just want to play with my buddies
Learn how to pass really nice.
Just want to tape up my new stick
Strap on my shin pads real tight
Pull on my favourite team jersey
Go for a skate every night.
I just want to get better
Learn how to shoot, pass and deek
Get up a game with the locals
Skate at the rink or the creek.
I don’t wanna hear parents fighting
Growsing, assigning some blame
I just want to play hockey
Just want to have fun; it’s a game.

Avoid placing an exaggerated emphasis on winning. A recent
surveyindicated 72% of children would rather play for a losing
team than ride the bench for a winner. The most important
aspect of your child's youth hockey experience is for them to
have fun while developing physical and emotional skills that
will serve them in life. A healthy, risk-free environment that
emphasizes the importance of fair play, sportsmanship,
discipline and, most importantly, fun will be invaluable for your
child as he or she continues to develop a positive self image.

Hockey Humor
Suddenly, the boy bursts into the kitchen. "Careful!
CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my goodness!
You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them!
TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my!
WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They're
going to STICK! Careful!...CAREFUL! I said be
CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you're
cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you CRAZY?
Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them.
You know you always forget to salt them. Use
the salt. USE THE SALT! THE SALT!!" The mother
stared at him. "What's wrong with you? You think
I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?" The son
calmly replied...."I just wanted to show you what
it feels like when I'm trying to play hockey......... "
