14U Hobgood Summer Classic: Welcome

Hobgood Summer Classic
This tournament is a great way to end your All Star experience. Hobgood Park is one of the premier parks in Dizzy Dean. Grass infield, a real dirt pitcher's mound, and a beautiful facility. Players and parents alike will enjoy our "home".


This tournament is player friendly.
- free substitution. Allows everyone to play or sit at any time.
- continious batting order. All players bat.
- no gate fee. Bring your grandparents or friends and enjoy the tournament.
- save on gas. We are very close to most parks.

Pitching Rules:
- players will be allowed to pitch up to 8 innings in one day.
- a pitcher can pitch 4 innings per game and be allowed to pitch the next game
without a required rest. Do not go over 4 innings in a game if you want to pitch
in the next game.
- Going over 4 innings in a game the player must rest 48 hours before
returning to pitch again.
- Pitchers will be allowed to pitch 16 total innings in the tournament.

Hobgood follows High School rules. Please note the following modifications:
- no head first slides to any base unless diving back from a pick off.
- no intentional contact. Players must slide into a base where there might be
contact. Intentional contact trying to have the defender drop the ball is an
out and suspension from the current game and next game.

Umpires decisions are final. Any ruling on the field is a final ruling.

Coaches can protest pitching violations. See tournament officials as up to date records are available at all times. Violation of a pitching rule will mean forfeit of the current game.

Only rosters of All Star Teams are allowed to play. Do not pick up any new or extra players or add to your roster without proof of injury. This is for the kids, play with honor and for the love of the game. Be a good sport.

Please bring your Dizzy Dean book and official roster so we can have a complete listing of all players and their uniform number for player verification.
