Parent Meeting for 2012-2013 Season

There will be a meeting on Wednesday, May 16, for parents of rising 6th, 7th & 8th graders who are interested in trying out for the Pope Jr. Greyhounds for the 2012-2013 season. Player candidates must be age 12, 13 or 14 on April 30, 2013 (next spring). There are some exceptions to the age cutoff so if you are unsure, please contact us before the meeting to verify if you player is eligible. Program Director & 14U Head Coach, Alan NeSmith, will be giving an overview of the feeder baseball program and answering parent questions.

2012 Summer Camps

Pope Jr. Greyhounds baseball is happy to announce its new 13U team under Head Coach, Wesley Brock.  The 13U team is led by a coaching staff of parent volunteers and paid non-parent coaches, including former and current Pope Baseball players.   The team will play a regular season schedule  in the North Georgia Feeder Baseball Leauge and also play in open tournaments in the spring and summer.  Player development will focus on baseball fundamentals as well as speed, agility and conditioning.

Mark your calendars!

The 14U and 13U Jr. Greyhounds have been invited as special guests to attend a key Pope region home game as the Varsity Greyhounds take on the Alexander Cougars (Douglasville).  This should be an exciting game since both teams have advanced to the playoffs for the last several years.  The game is Monday, March 19 at 5:55 p.m. and all 14U and 13U players and coaches who attend wearing their jersey and hat will be admitted to the game for free.   (Ticket prices for additional spectators are $5 for adults, $3 for students; children 6 and under are free. 

The Jr. Greyhounds will have the honor of standing on the field with the Varsity team during the National Anthem.  We hope to see all our Jr. Greyhounds players, coaches, family and friends as we cheer on the Varsity Hounds!
