13U Washington Patriots: Welcome
|
Welcome to the 13U Washington Patriots
|
We are a select baseball team in North Pierce County/South King County in Washington. We believe that "select" means more than baseball talent. We "select" our players based on their hard work, dedication and character. We look for athletes who work hard on the field and off, show respect for themselves and others, demonstrate a willingness to learn, exemplify good sportsmanship, and push themselves to give their best. We are proud of these outstanding young men. |

We formed the team with one goal in mind: preparing each of our players to land a position on a high-school team. The wins and losses we tally along the way will be mere footnotes if we succeed in that goal. To achieve it, we teach baseball-specific skills such as mechanics and strategy. More importantly, our players are developing the traits that apply to every aspect of life, such as determination and integrity. To us, baseball training encompasses the entire person. On the physical side, we work on mechanics, agility and stamina. The mental aspect includes strategy, quick decisions, good judgment, knowledge of rules, and awareness of the game situation. And the emotional part maybe the toughest of all encompasses winning or losing gracefully, recovering from errors and disappointments quickly, and working together as a team. |

The 13U Washington Patriots recognize the value of each player's year-round efforts. We started out in spring of 2006 playing 12U tournaments and a 13U competitive league. By summer, the league had ended, and we played 12U tournaments and a competitive league for 5th- and 6th-grade students. Next we joined an instructional fall league. In winter training, we practiced indoors and outdoors, and took pitching classes, an infield clinic, a hitting camp, and classes for speed, agility and quickness. And now we have come full circle to play spring baseball again in a 13U league and 13U tournaments. |

We are seeking donations and sponsors to offset player development costs. Our families foot the bill for uniforms, league fees, tournament fees, equipment and travel expenses. Your tax-deductible contribution will be earmarked for position-specific training and general training. We are registered as a non-profit corporation in Washington State. |
