10U Fox Gold Fastpitch: Welcome

Welcome to the 2012-2013 Ann Arbor Gold 10u softball team.  For more information please email coach Bill Fox at bfox@manslumber.com .

 Here's a recap of the Parent Meeting with Coach Bill on March 3rd, 2013:

* No practice on Easter Sunday, March 31, or the following Sunday, April 7.

* We will have one more month of practice in our indoor facility. After the April break, we will move outdoors to Virginia Park for about six weeks.

* Infield face masks will be required for all players once we move outdoors.

* At the end of May, the Rec&Ed softball season will begin, and we will be playing until late July/early August as a Rec&Ed 5th grade team under Coach Bill. You will not need to register online; Bill has worked things out with Rec&Ed, and he and I will be able to register everyone separately. Bill is also negotiating a lower price for this Rec&Ed participation, since we will already have our own uniforms and do not need Rec&Ed shirts and hats. We will request Virginia Park as our practice field, but ultimately, we get whatever Rec&Ed assigns.

* We will let you know what our second team payment will be. At the meeting, Bill said it would be around $50; it's possible it will be slightly higher, depending on the price we get from Rec&Ed.

* The 10U team will play in two tournaments, one in Jackson, June 7-9, and the other in Howell, July 19-21.

* At some point this spring/summer, we will scrimmage with the Skyline 10U travel team, the Michiana Cruisers.

* Todd Bailey, Zoe's dad, has offered to manage the team website. Eventually, you will be able to check here for the team calendar and updates. Please let Coach Bill or Todd know if you do not want your daughter's name or any photos of her on the website.  You can contact Todd at toddartbail@gmail.com                

 * Consensus about our indoor practice facility is positive; coaches especially like the infield practice room and the high ceilings for practicing fly balls.
